Author: SPR Posted In: Culture

In a survey of over 400 tech executives to determine what trends would are shaping IT leadership in 2022, SPR found that IT leaders are looking for more than just tech skills. The ability to lead and communicate dominates as organizations execute their technology strategies, with five of the top six most important skills being soft skills, rather than technical skills.

SPR CTO Matt Mead sat down with Melissa McElroy and Mike Saccotelli, Directors of Delivery at SPR, to talk about the skills IT leaders are looking for. Watch the discussion below as Matt, Melissa and Mike discuss topics including: balancing soft and technical skills, creating a culture of innovation, the qualities of strong leaders, and communicating cross-functionally to drive project success.

Around 40-60% of respondents said that leadership, business acumen, strategic thinking, and collaboration were the most important skills needed to execute their current technology strategy.
