ITKAN Monthly Meeting – April 2017

Event

Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology

REGISTER >

Blockchain has the potential to disrupt industries from financial services to real estate to healthcare and beyond. These shared ledgers encrypted at the record level provide a way to validate transactions through little or no human intervention. According to PwC, immutable blockchain has the ability to turn huge volumes of transactions that involve people and paper processing taking days into an automatic validation process, saving significant time, resources and money. Sound like hype? It actually has the potential to transform the delivery of both private and public services. In addition to bringing efficiency and accuracy to business processes, it holds the promise of redefining the relationship between government and the citizen in terms of data sharing, transparency and trust along the way. Learn what this technology means, how it works, and what the promise is from Microsoft Cloud Solution Architect Omkar Naik.

Omkar Naik joined Microsoft in July 2016 as a sales lead for Data Platform and Blockchain in Midwest. He is responsible for defining and managing Microsoft’s Data Platform sales to enterprise customers in Midwest including planning, forecasting and execution. He previously led connected vehicle product strategy at CNH, and locomotive development at Caterpillar. Omkar also founded My Shaving Club – a Shaving as a Subscription service. Omkar has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Alabama, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
