SPR’s Steven Devoe Named 2024 Rising Star by Consulting Magazine
SPR is thrilled to announce that Steven Devoe, Data Specialty Director at SPR, has received a 2024 Rising Star of the Profession Award by Consulting Magazine.
This award is given to individuals aged 36 and under who are shaking up the industry in impactful ways and redefining the consulting profession. Steven was selected as an up-and-coming leader who complements and strengthens SPR’s seasoned veterans, and is also critical to SPR's profitability, longevity, and respected reputation.

Hands-on approach: Steven has implemented AI/ML technologies for SPR’s clients, demonstrating both his technical prowess and his commitment to client success. Additionally, Steven has emerged as a passionate advocate for AI and ML, tirelessly working to instill excitement and knowledge about these transformative technologies among our consulting staff.
Active in sales pursuits and marketing efforts: The AI/ML market has witnessed an unprecedented surge in interest and innovation since November 2022. In this rapidly evolving landscape, Steven has been an indispensable asset to SPR, actively participating in more than 40 AI and ML-related sales pursuits. He also helped to update our messaging to align with AI and ML market trends. His ability to adapt to market dynamics underscores his strategic vision and dedication to the success of SPR.
Focused on clients: Steven’s client-centric approach is exemplified by his involvement in numerous successful projects. Notably, his leadership in the project with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) showcases his commitment to leveraging AI and ML for positive societal impact. Under his guidance, SPR developed a ML model to predict student enrollment, allowing SAIC to better allocate grants and financial aid, enabling more students to study art. “Steven's leadership of the project was exceptional,” said Kyle O’Connell, Director of Enrollment Analytics and Forecasting at SAIC. “He went above and beyond to answer questions or make adjustments to optimize performance. The project progressed ahead of schedule allowing time for thorough documentation of the process to improve repeatability. If I was assembling a machine learning team, Steven would be my first pick.”
Educating and empowering others: Steven’s initiative in organizing the “Art of the Possible” ML/AI workshop demonstrates his commitment to client education and empowerment. This workshop not only educates clients on the potential of ML/AI technologies but also facilitates collaborative brainstorming sessions to identify opportunities for leveraging these technologies to drive positive business outcomes and rapid ROI.
Now in its ninth year, Consulting Magazine is excited to discover a new group of outstanding individuals through its annual Rising Stars of the Profession awards. The 2024 honorees were celebrated April 11 at a dinner and awards program in Chicago.
